Roda approaches each session with curiosity and an intent to create a collaborative space where each client can explore their unique experience.
When faced with a crisis, it can leave you feeling that what you wanted out of life is not adding up to your reality. This can cause feelings of brokenness, despair and hopelessness. Roda is a counsellor and psychotherapist who understands the complexities, uncertainties and paradoxes of life. She believes that the experience of having someone attune to your story encourages growth in other areas of life, resulting in learning how to better hold onto your self while in close relationship with others.
Roda’s calm presence creates a safe space for clients to gain awareness of their authentic self. The treatment modalities she uses in her work with individuals and couples include CBT, Emotion-focused Therapy and Existential Therapy. She maintains a person-centred and trauma-informed approach. Roda uses what each client brings into the therapeutic space to create an alliance that is experiential and relational.
Roda is particularly passionate about working with couples, helping them to build deeper intimacy, while maintaining their autonomy. Using a differentiated-based approach, Roda creates a space where each partner feels safe and learns to express their inner desire, while self-soothing and self-regulating.
