Mitchell is a registered Psychologist who is inspired to create safe, supportive, and collaborative therapeutic relationships that allow for transformational change.
His practice is informed by a continued interest in relational psychodynamic therapy, which focuses on how past experiences—particularly early relationships—shape the way we think, feel, and behave in the present. Mitchell helps people to explore how patterns that may have developed early in life continue to show up in their current relationships and emotional responses.
Mitchell draws upon formal training and experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based approaches to address a wide range of concerns. He works with adults and adolescents experiencing challenges such as depression, social avoidance, anxiety and panic, relationship difficulties, grief, and the impact of early trauma and attachment struggles.
He has a strong clinical interest in supporting people who experience psychosis and welcomes such referrals in collaboration with a treating Psychiatrist or GP.
