Liane is a registered psychologist who is passionate about people’s capacity to overcome their challenges to live a life that has meaning for them.
Liane’s approach is compassion focussed, neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ affirming, as well as trauma and neuroscience informed. She enjoys working with adults of all ages and her particular areas of interest include:
- Anxiety
- Mood disorders – depression and bipolar disorder
- Complex trauma and PTSD
- Gender diverse and LGBTQIA+ people
- Culturally diverse backgrounds
- Neurodivergence- Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism
- Personality vulnerabilities
Liane has worked with young people between the ages of 12 – 25 presenting with complex mental health issues, from diverse backgrounds, for over 15 years. This includes working for a nation-wide counselling service, as well as a not-for-profit adolescent mental health service.
Liane works collaboratively with clients using the following therapeutic approaches – Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness.
Liane is a lifelong learner and really enjoys engaging in regular, ongoing professional development in order to better meet her clients where they are at – whatever their experiences.
